Shannon Harty
Shannon is one of only 85 funeral directors in the country to hold the Level 4 University of Greenwich Diploma, the highest qualification in funeral service.
Shannon received a special award from the British Institute of Funeral Directors, for being the only student to achieve 100% in her studies.

Catherine Anderson
Catherine is the perfect addition to our family here at Hartys of Chester, having 13 years of experience as a funeral director.
Catherine’s passion and dedication to providing those who are bereaved with the highest level of care is unwavering, her professionalism and commitment is outstanding.
Having attended school in Handbridge, Catherine is very proud to be serving her hometown and the surrounding areas.

FAMILY HISTORY
Raymond Francis Harty 05.03.1932 – 10.10.2018
WINIFRED HARTY
24.11.1932 – 18.08.2024
Our Grandfather, ‘Ray’ worked as a Commi Waiter, aged sixteen at the Chester Grosvenor Hotel. Ray later went on to join the Merchant Navy, where he thrived due to his exceptional timekeeping, organisation, and strong work ethic. Ray has passed on his passion for ‘military precision’ to the new generations of the Harty family.
Winnie came from a large Liverpool family and was evacuated during World War II on two separate occasions. The impact that this had upon her shaped the rest of her life and she became extremely resilient. She spent the majority of her retirement volunteering for Saint Vincent de Paul and dedicated a lot of her time to her local, catholic church. Winnie’s empathetic, caring nature has helped to form the values of Hartys of Chester Family Funeral Directors.
Winnie and Ray were Married for 66 years. They are now reunited and we like to think that Ray and Winnie will be extremely proud that their legacy and Harty name is still living on through their family.

Trixie
Trixie is our 3 year old, elegant lady poodle.
She is here to offer comfort to all dog lovers and will greet you with a wagging tail.
Elton
Elton is our 2 year old labradoodle and is the gentleman of the office.
He is very friendly and may also greet you at the front door, possibly with a toy or two!
