On the evening of August 9th, the skies were tranquil and the stars shone through. He walked through the Wirral suburbs with his daughter and her dog, talking about the distance of the visible cloud layer from the ground. Serenity through to his final moments.

Through his unrelenting effort, he earned many moments like this. In a place where time would stand still, and the world simply slipped away. For Jon, this place was on his balcony in Switzerland, gifting views of Lake Zürich in the company of his forever love: his wife, Heather.

Now, he lives in that tranquillity for all eternity; and, with his deep breath, he waits for us to join him.

Nothing truly describes the feeling of not having him here; not seeing his face, hearing his voice or feeling his unbeatable embrace. Nothing and nobody will ever fill the void he’s left behind. Doting Husband, loving Father, kind Brother, and so much more; Jon will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family flowers only, please. However, for those who wish to gift in his memory, donations to the British Heart Foundation will be gratefully received. These contributions support lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases, aiming to protect other families from the tragedy that took Jon too soon.

MEMORIAL Arrangements

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Jon on Monday 14th September 2026, 11:30am at The Pheasant Inn, Tattenhall, CH3 9PF.

In his memory, the family has asked all who attend to dress smartly with a dash of Liverpool FC red. For those unable to join in person, you’re invited to wear a hint of red in spirit.

At 12 noon, a glass of something extravagant will be raised in Jon’s honour. Near or far, please join in celebrating his amazing life.

Messages of Condolence

I will always remember Jon for his deep love for Heather and care and hard work for his family and children Jade and Nicholas. We once ended up in a German language exam together – quite unplanned. We were chosen to discuss together the subject of football. Of which I have absolutely no real knowledge or interest. Jon was very kind and we ended up have a conversation about football that was good enough to pass that section of the exam. It takes a courageous and determined personality to move to a new country and Jon showed that so much in his work and leisure activities. I’ll miss seeing your hiking pictures with Heather as you explored your adoptive country.
